Any age! You can start training young or old.
I took my first lesson at 7 years old. Taking lessons at a young age helps develop familiarity with aircraft and is fun for any child or young adult. Most people realize aviation is expensive, so it is not common to have an 8 year old taking 5 lessons a week. However, doing some lessons is beneficial to developing passion for aviation as a future career. Ex: Reasonably speaking, summer lessons for kids 7-15 years of age could be anywhere from 1-4 times a month.
getting the license....
You do have to be 16 years old to solo in the USA. You have to be 17 to get the actual private pilot rating! (Solo flight happens before getting the private pilot rating, similar to the provisional period of a drivers license.
On the other side, taking lessons as an older person is not an issue. There is even a group of pilots who are 80+ years of age (learning to fly) known as the octogenarians. Medical factors appear to be the only limit in terms of upper age student pilots. If you have any questions, consult with your local Aviation Medical Examiner.
Usually we will use El Monte Airport (4233 Santa Anita Av. El monte, CA) we sometimes use Cable Airport located in Upland, CA. It depends a lot on the type of plane we are using for your training or demo flight. We can use any airport close to you if you prefer to pay for the cost of airplane repositioning (typically it is the cost of the plane and instructor per hour.) * It may be cheaper to drive to the plane but some people prefer this option as convenience and time is more valuable.
Yes, absolutely. Buying a headset is worth every penny (headsets hold pretty good resale value, so you can always resell it if you don't like it!) Whether you buy a cheap one or an expensive one it is worth it to have your own equipment so you can keep it in a condition that is acceptable to you.
If you want to try a few out before you buy them, we have 8 different headsets to try on and borrow at NO charge. I almost gurantee you will like the UFQ A7.
Yes everything I do is flat rate. However, if you would rather pay as you go or pay hourly, It is your choice.
There are two Cessna 150's available for the price of $110 to $120 per hour. If you require a bigger airplane the average cost is around $140 per hour.
If you need a document notarized, remember to bring the following:
1. The actual document you need notarized
2. A valid unexpired government ID or driver's license. ( If you don't have an idea you will need 2 witnesses with valid ID who know you personally)
3. Also make sure the document is completed completed in its entirety. It's a good practice to hold off on signing it until you are in the presence of the notary.
